I talked to this lovable girl group about the seniors who inspire them, their August comeback, and what is next for them!

희수 : 신나는 사운드와 무대에서 제대로 노는 마카마카를 보실 수 있어요ㅎㅎ
디아 : 마카마카의 새로운 모습 입니다
채원 : 마카마카의 새롭고 다양한 모습들을 많이 보실 수 있습니다 !
다슬 : 처음보는 멤버들의 신선한 모습 
은비 : 더 귀여워진 저희 마카마카의 모습을 보실 수 있습니다!
Heesu: You can see the exciting sound of MAKAMAKA properly on stage.
Dia: This [will be] the new look of MAKAMAKA.
Chaewon: You can see a lot of new and diverse aspects of MAKAMAKA!

8월 컴백은 데뷔 앨범과 어떻게 다른가요?
How does your August comeback differ from your debut release?
 
희수 : 데뷔 앨범과 다르게 이번에는 수록곡이 있어요! 수록곡도 굉장히 좋으니 많이 들어주세요 ㅎㅎ
디아 : 데뷔 앨범은 청량한 느낌이었다면 이번 앨범은 정말 신나는 곡 입니다
채원 : 데뷔 앨범 때는 노래가 시원한 느낌이었다면 컴백 곡은 완전 밝은 노래 ! 라고 말할 수 있을 것 같아요
다슬 : 조금 더 확실한 밝음 !! 
은비 : 예전과 같은 밝고 신나지만 더욱 발전된 마카마카의 모습을 볼수 있습니다!
Heesu: Unlike the debut album, this time there is a B-side track! This song is also very good, so please listen to it a lot.
Dia: If the debut album had a refreshing feeling, this album [has a] really exciting [feeling].
Chaewon: If the song had a cool feeling in the debut album, this comeback song is a very bright song! 
Daseul: A little more brightness!!
EunB: It's bright and exciting like before, but you can see [a] more advanced MAKAMAKA!

팬데믹 시기에 데뷔는 어땠나요? 직접 행사 없이도 즐길 수 있는 방법을 찾을 수 있었나요?
What was it like to debut during a pandemic? Were you able to find ways to have fun even without in-person events?
 
희수 : 무대 위에 있는데 많이 허전했고 팬분들과 소통할 수 있는 기회가 많이 
없어서 아쉬웠어요 브이앱을 통해 팬분들과 재밌게 소통했던 거 같아요
디아 : 솔직히 정말 아쉬웠지만 데뷔를 했다는 것 만으로 행복했고 팬들을 만날 
그 날을 생각하며 열심히 연습했습니다
채원 : 팬분들과 가까이에서 소통할 수 없다는 점이 가장 아쉬웠습니다
브이앱이나 카페에서 팬분들과 소통하면서 더 애틋하고 보고싶은 것 같아요
다슬 : 비대면공연을 간간히 했었는데 처음 해보는 경험이라 즐거웠고 이마저 감사했습니다
은비 : 팬들앞에서 무대를 못한 것이 너무 아쉽고 속상하지만 대신 비대면 공연을해 여러분들을 만날 수 있어 다행이라고 생각합니다 !
Heesu: I was on stage and I was very empty, [but] there were many opportunities to communicate with the fans. I think I had fun communicating with the fans through the [VLive] app and at the fan cafe.
Dia: To be honest, it was really sad, but I was happy just to debut, and I was happy to meet the fans. Thinking of that day, I practiced hard.
Chaewon: It was most regrettable that I could not communicate closely with the fans. I think I want to see [fans] more affectionately [than] communicating with the fans on the V App or at the fan cafe.
Daseul: I had a few non-face-to-face performances, but they were my first experiences, so they were fun and I was grateful for them.
EunB: It's very unfortunate and upsetting that I couldn't perform in front of the fans, but I think I'm lucky to be able to meet you all through a non-face-to-face performance instead!

'Hey U' 뮤직비디오를 만들면서 'TMI' 이야기가 있나요?
Do you have any “TMI” stories about making the “Hey U” music video?
 
희수 : 제가 초등학교 이후로 처음 뽀글이 머리를 해봤는데 팬분들이 어떻게 봐줄지 굉장히 궁금해요.. 엄청난 변신을 했답니다 ㅎㅎ
디아 : 이번 뮤직비디오에선 멤버 한명씩 캐릭터가 있습니당 뮤비를 잘 봐주세요
채원 : 헤이유 뮤직비디오에서 야외 군무씬이 있는데 그 때 무릎 닿는 안무에서 바닥이 너무 뜨거웠어요 저희는 웃고있지만요 !
다슬 : 야외촬영중에 안무중에 바닥에 무릎을 대는 안무가 있었는데 바닥이 너무 뜨거워서 정말 화상을 입을 뻔한 기억이 있습니다 멤버 모두 뜨거운걸 참아줘서 한번에 오케이 싸인을 받았어요
은비 : 뮤직비디오때 나온 마카롱들을 뮤비끝나고 저희가 다 먹었어요><
Heesu: It's the first time I've had puffy hair since elementary school, and I'm very curious how the fans will look at it. I made a huge transformation!
Dia: In this music video, each member has a character. Please watch the music video carefully.
Chaewon: There was an outdoor group dance scene in the “Hey U” music video, and the floor was so hot during the choreography that it reached our knees. 
Daseul: During the outdoor shooting, there was a choreography where I put my knees on the floor, and the floor was so hot that I almost got burned.
EunB: After the music video, we ate all the macarons from the music video.

MAKAMAKA가 데뷔한 지 거의 1년이 되었습니다. 축하합니다! 지난 1년 동안 예술가로서 무엇을 배웠고 어떻게 성장했습니까? 
It has almost been a full year since MAKAMAKA debuted. Congratulations! What have you learned and how have you grown as an artist throughout this past year?
 
희수 : 코로나가 심해서 무대경험을 많이 못쌓아서 아쉽지만 그래도 저번 데뷔앨범
보다는 곡을 저희 곡으로 소화하는 능력이 더 생긴거같아요 ! 저를 돌아보는 시간을 
많이 가지면서 성장을 한거같아요
디아 : 정말 멋진 아티스트가 되기 위해선 끊임 없이 노력하고 발전해야 한다고 
느꼈습니다
채원 : 멤버들과 정말 많이 가까워졌기 때문에 저희 마카마카라는 그룹의 색이 더 
선명해진 것 같아요
다슬 : 1년간 팀워크를 많이 다졌던 것 같아요 팀으로서 하는 생활에 대해 많이 
배웠던 것 같아요
은비 : 지난 1년동안 흔들리지않는 강한 멘탈을 배웠고 좋은 에너지를 줄 수 있도록 
더 노력했습니다 !
Heesu: It's a pity that I couldn't get a lot of stage experience because of the coronavirus, but still, [through] my debut album, I think I have gained more ability to [turn] songs into our own songs! I think I grew up a lot.
Dia: To become a really great artist, you have to work hard and constantly improve.
Chaewon: Because we got really close to the members, the color of our group is clearer.
Daseul: I think we have developed a lot of teamwork over the past year. We talked a lot about life as a team.
EunB: Over the past year, I have learned a strong, unshakable mentality, so that I can give [fans] good energy. I worked harder!

K팝 업계 선배 중 누구에게 가장 영감을 받았나요? 
Which seniors in the K-pop industry are you most inspired by?
 
희수 : 트와이스 선배님이요! 저희 컨셉에 비슷한 부분이 조금씩 있어서 많이 챙겨 
보는 편입니다!
디아 : 블랙핑크의 제니 선배님 입니다!
채원 : 시원한 여름곡 하면 트와이스 선배님들이 가장 먼저 떠올라요 ! 그래서 무대도 자주 찾아보고 있습니다
다슬 : 트와이스 선배님들을 정말 좋아합니다 언제 어느때나 에너지 넘치는 모습이 정말 대단하다고 생각합니다
은비 : 소녀시대 선배님!
Heesu: TWICE sunbaenim! There are a few similarities in our concept, so we take care of it a lot.
Dia: BLACKPINK's Jennie!
Chaewon: When I think of cool summer songs, TWICE seniors come to mind first! So I often look for their stages.
Daseul: I really like TWICE seniors.
EunB: Girls’ Generation seniors!

K팝 아이돌이 되고 싶은 사람에게 해주고 싶은 조언이 있다면? 
What advice do you have for anyone who wants to become a K-pop idol? 
 
희수 : 생각보다 많은 의지와 끈기가 필요하다고 말해주고 싶어요! 
디아 : 언제 찾아올지 모르는 기회를 위해서 항상 자신의 무기를 만들고 준비해라!!
채원 : 아이돌이라는 꿈은 정말 멋진 일인 것 같아요 혹시 아이돌의 꿈을 갖고 있다면 용기내보라고 말해주고 싶어요 !
다슬 : 연습은 곧 자신감이다!!
은비 : 끈기와 강한멘탈이 제일 중요해요!!
Heesu: I want to tell you that it takes a lot more will and perseverance than I thought!
Dia: Always make your own weapon and prepare for an opportunity that may come when you do not know it will come!
Chaewon: I think the dream of becoming an idol is a wonderful thing. If you have a dream of becoming an idol, I want to tell you to be brave!
Daseul: Practice is [the key to] confidence!
EunB: Perseverance and a strong mentality are the most important!

MAKAMAKA 의 다음 컴백 이후 행보는? 앞으로의 목표와 꿈은 무엇인가요?
What is next for MAKAMAKA after your next comeback? What are your goals and dreams for farther in the future? 
 
희수 : 다음 앨범은 보컬을 좀 더 보여드릴 수 있을 거 같아요 앞으로 저희 마카마카의 색을 제대로 각인시켜드리고 더 많은 분들이 저희 노래를 자주 찾아주고 즐겨들을 수 있게끔 저희를 많이 알리고 싶어요!
디아 : 더 많은 사람들에게 마카마카 라는 그룹을 알리는 게 목표입니다 
채원 : 마카마카가 데뷔곡과 이번 컴백곡이 시기도 여름이고 밝은 노래인데요 나중에 저희의 시크하고 멋진 모습도 보여드리고 싶습니다 그리고 무엇보다 팬분들과 더 가까이 소통하고 함께하고 싶어요
다슬 : 앞으로 마카마카가 많은 대중분들께 사랑 받는 그룹이 되길 바랍니다
은비 : 또 다른 모습의 저희를 보여드리고 싶고 매번 다양한 컨셉모두 잘 소화해낼 수 있는 마카마카가 되고싶습니다 !!
Heesu: I think I will be able to show more vocals in the next album. In the future, I want to imprint the color of MAKAMAKA more properly and let more people know about us, so that more people can find and enjoy our songs more often!
Dia: Our goal is to introduce MAKAMAKA to more people.
Chaewon: MAKAMAKA’s debut song and this comeback song are bright summer songs. Later, we want to show our chic and cool side.
Daseul: I hope that MAKAMAKA becomes a group loved by many people in the future.
EunB: I want to show a different side of us, and I want to become a MAKAMAKA that can handle various concepts well every time!
