We're a five-member virtual girl group made up of Z-HAN, IVI, SUA, KANA, and CHOEUN.
저희는 지한, 이비, 수아, 카나, 초은으로 구성된 5인조 버추얼 걸그룹입니다.
Z-HAN is our leader and the steady vocalist who keeps the team grounded, while CHOEUN and I bring our own distinct vocal colors that add depth to our music. IVI's strength lies in her outstanding performances and hip-hop-style dance, while KANA's charms come from her powerful rap tone and clean and precise dance lines.
지한은 팀의 리더이자 안정적인 보컬로 중심을 잡아주는 멤버이고, 초은과 저(수아)는 각자의 개성을 가진 보컬로 팀의 음악을 더욱 풍성하게 만들어가고 있습니다. 이비는 뛰어난 퍼포먼스와 힙합 스타일의 춤이 강점이며, 카나는 파워풀한 랩과 깔끔한 춤선이 매력입니다.
All five of us have very different personalities and charms, but I think it's exactly those differences coming together that creates our own unique color as a group.

For those who have not heard your music before, how would you describe it to them? How would you finish the sentence “MW:MEU is ___” or “MW:MEU’s music is ___”?
MW:MEU의 음악을 아직 들어보지 못한 분들에게 어떻게 설명하시겠어요? "MW:MEU는 ___이다" 또는 "MW:MEU의 음악은 ___이다"라는 문장을 어떻게 완성하시겠어요?
I'd describe MW:MEU as “a team turning dreams into reality.” Members with different stories and personalities are growing together towards one shared goal, and we try to show that process through our music. Rather than presenting a perfect image, we want to be honest about the moments we struggle or stumble along the way and show that we keep moving forward without giving up.
저는 MW:MEU를 ‘꿈을 현실로 만들어가는 팀’이라고 표현하고 싶습니다. 각기 다른 이야기와 개성을 가진 멤버들이 하나의 목표를 향해 함께 성장하며, 그 과정을 음악으로 보여드리고 있습니다. 완벽한 모습을 보여드리기보다, 때로는 고민하고 넘어지더라도 포기하지 않고 앞으로 나아가는 모습을 솔직하게 담아내고 싶습니다.

What are some things people would be surprised to learn about MW:MEU?
MW:MEU에 대해 사람들이 알면 놀랄 만한 점은 무엇일까요?
I'm actually not just a member of the team. I'm also involved as the group's producer. Since I've been involved from the member lineup stage all the way through album-planning, I feel like we're less of a team that was created for us and more of a team we've been building ourselves. A lot of people assume we started by creating our [group] name or our universe first, but the very first thing we actually decided on was our musical direction.
사실 저는 팀에서 멤버이면서 동시에 프로듀서 역할도 함께 맡고 있습니다. 멤버 구성 단계부터 음악과 앨범 기획까지 직접 참여하고 있기 때문에, 저희는 누군가가 만들어준 팀이라기보다 스스로 함께 만들어가고 있는 팀에 가깝다고 생각합니다. 많은 분들이 이름이나 세계관부터 만들어졌을 거라고 생각하시지만, 사실 가장 먼저 정한 것은 음악의 방향성이었습니다.

What makes MW:MEU different from other girl groups?
MW:MEU가 다른 걸그룹과 다른 점은 무엇일까요?
I think the biggest difference is that a member is directly involved in producing. Because of that, the members' real concerns and growth can come through more naturally in our music and content. The “journey towards a dream” we talk about isn't a path someone else laid out for us; it's a path we're building ourselves, and I think that's what makes it meaningful.
가장 큰 차별점은 멤버가 직접 프로듀싱에 참여하고 있다는 점이라고 생각합니다. 그래서 음악이나 콘텐츠 안에 멤버들의 실제 고민과 성장 과정이 더 자연스럽게 담길 수 있습니다. 저희가 이야기하는 ‘꿈을 향해 나아가는 과정’ 역시 누군가가 정해준 길이 아니라, 저희가 직접 만들어가는 길이라는 점에서 더욱 의미가 있다고 생각합니다.

Is there an interesting backstory behind how you first became a group?
그룹이 처음 결성될 때 있었던 재미있는 뒷이야기가 있나요?
There's actually a fun story behind that. When the members were going through auditions and interviews, none of them expected that I would end up as a member. Everyone just knew me as the producer, part of the production staff. So I was part of the interviews, sat in on meetings, and kept in touch with everyone. Later, when it was revealed that I'm actually part of the group, too, the members were genuinely shocked!
사실 재미있는 비밀이 하나 있었습니다. 멤버들이 오디션과 면접을 볼 당시에는 아무도 제가 멤버가 될 것이라고 생각하지 못했어요. 모두 저를 팀을 만드는 프로듀서나 제작진으로만 알고 있었습니다. 그래서 면접도 보고, 회의도 하고, 연락도 주고받았는데 나중에 제가 “저도 멤버로 활동합니다!”라고 공개됐을 때 멤버들이 정말 많이 놀랐던 기억이 있습니다.
Another fun thing is that at first I imagined a team with a calmer, more professional vibe, but over time, the members' real personalities started coming out, and those unexpected sides ended up becoming the team's biggest charms.
또 하나 재미있는 점은, 처음에는 조금 더 차분하고 프로페셔널한 분위기의 팀을 상상했는데 시간이 지나면서 멤버들의 진짜 모습이 나오기 시작했고, 그 예상 밖의 모습들이 오히려 지금 팀의 가장 큰 매력이 되었다는 것입니다.

Please describe the meaning of your fandom name!
팬덤 이름의 의미를 설명해주세요!
The name “WENs” was actually suggested by the fans themselves, representing the people who always face MEU, shining light back towards us. Since it's a name the fans created, it means even more to us. We hope that MW:MEU and WENs can keep facing each other, growing together, and building precious memories going forward.
팬덤명 WENs는 팬 여러분이 직접 제안해 주신 이름입니다. ‘WENs’는 ‘MEU’를 반전시킨 글자로, 언제나 마주 보며 MEU를 비추는 또 다른 방향의 존재들을 의미합니다. 팬분들이 직접 만들어 주신 이름인 만큼 저희에게도 더욱 특별하게 다가옵니다. 앞으로도 저희와 WENs가 서로를 마주 보며 함께 성장하고, 소중한 추억을 만들어 갈 수 있기를 기대하고 있습니다.

Please describe your songs “Paper Plane” and “Gummy Clock”!

“Gummy Clock” was the first song we released, and it's the beginning of MW:MEU's story. We wanted listeners to feel like they were stepping into a strange, dreamlike world where the rules of reality no longer apply — almost like entering a place made of soft, stretchy jelly. Musically, it's built around drum and bass, capturing both the excitement and mystery of opening the door to a completely new world.
선공개곡 ‘Gummy Clock’은 저희 세계관의 시작을 알리는 곡입니다. 말랑하게 늘어진 젤리처럼 현실의 규칙이 통하지 않는 낯설고 몽환적인 세계를 ‘Gummy Clock’이라는 이름으로 표현했으며, Drum and Bass를 기반으로 새로운 세계의 문이 열리는 순간의 설렘과 신비로운 분위기를 담았습니다.
“Paper Plane” takes place in our “Dreamer Zone” and tells a brighter, freer story. Just like sending a paper airplane into the sky, we want it to carry the message of chasing dreams together without being afraid. It combines rock-inspired energy with funky rhythms and an electro-pop sound, making it a song that's both uplifting and fun to listen to.
타이틀곡 ‘Paper Plane’은 ‘Dreamer Zone’ 속에서 펼쳐지는 밝고 자유로운 이야기를 담은 곡입니다. 종이비행기를 날리듯 함께 꿈을 향해 떠나자는 희망적인 메시지를 담고 있으며, 락적인 에너지와 펑키한 리듬이 어우러진 일렉트로 팝 사운드가 특징입니다.

Do you expect future MW:MEU music to sound like “Paper Plane” and “Gummy Clock,” or do you plan to move in a new musical direction?
앞으로 MW:MEU의 음악은 "Paper Plane"과 "Gummy Clock"과 같은 스타일일까요, 아니면 새로운 음악적 방향으로 나아갈 계획이 있나요?
I don't think there's a fixed answer to that. Since we still see ourselves as a team that's very much growing, we'd rather take on a variety of possibilities than stick to one single style. I think every album we release from here on will be a new challenge for us. We want to be a team that always shows you something new — musically, in our content, and on stage.

Which of your YouTube song covers is your favorite? And will there be more song covers from individual MW:MEU members in the future?
유튜브에서 가장 좋아하는 커버곡은 무엇인가요? 그리고 앞으로 MW:MEU 멤버들의 개별 커버곡을 더 많이 볼 수 있을까요?
Personally, my favorite is CHOEUN's cover of “Medicine” [by Leina]. I think that video really captures CHOEUN's charm at its best. Set against a school backdrop with that fresh, youthful feel, the song's upbeat energy matches perfectly with CHOEUN's distinctive vocals. I think people loved it not just as a song, but as something you could enjoy like watching a coming-of-age movie. We'll keep releasing solo cover content from each member, so please look forward to more.
개인적으로는 초은의 ‘Medicine’ 커버를 가장 좋아합니다. 이 영상은 초은이의 매력을 가장 잘 보여주는 콘텐츠라고 생각해요. 풋풋한 청춘의 분위기를 학교를 배경으로 담아냈는데, 곡이 가진 긍정적인 에너지와 초은의 개성있는 보컬이 정말 잘 어울렸습니다. 음악뿐만 아니라 영상까지 한 편의 청춘 영화처럼 즐길 수 있다는 점이 많은 사랑을 받은 이유라고 생각합니다. 앞으로도 멤버들의 개별 커버 콘텐츠를 계속 선보일 예정이니 기대해 주셨으면 좋겠습니다.

What are your short-term and long-term goals for MW:MEU?
MW:MEU의 단기 및 장기 목표는 무엇인가요?
Honestly, ever since our early debut days, standing on a music show stage was one of our biggest short-term goals, and thankfully, we were able to achieve that recently. So we've set a new goal: entering the Melon Charts. It would mean that a lot of people are actually listening to and connecting with our music, so we really hope to see our name on the charts someday.
사실 데뷔 초부터 음악 방송 무대에 서는 것이 가장 큰 단기 목표 중 하나였는데, 감사하게도 최근에 그 목표를 이루게 되었습니다. 그래서 최근에는 새로운 목표를 세우게 되었는데, 바로 멜론 음원 차트에 진입하는 것입니다. 많은 분들이 저희 음악을 찾아 들어주시고 공감해 주신다는 의미이기도 하기 때문에, 언젠가는 차트에서 저희의 이름을 볼 수 있었으면 좋겠습니다.
In the long run, our biggest goal is to hold our own solo concert. Someday, we want to fill a venue with fans and share our music and our story with them in person. Creating a special space where we can look back together on everything we've grown through and the memories we've made [is] our dream.

Before we're virtual artists, we're people who want to share stories through music. Our appearance might feel a little unfamiliar at first, but the emotions, dreams, and messages we want to share aren't any different from those of other artists.
